Description: Westward From Rio, by Heath Bowman & Stirling Dickinson. DOUBLE-SIGNED, by Both Authors.Profusely Illustrated with 100 original b&w Linoleum Block Prints, by Stirling Dickinson. Hardcover, w/out DJ; First Edition, 1st Print (unstated);Chicago: Willett, Clark & Company, 1936.Copyright 1936 by Willett, Clark & Co.8vo. 351 pp. CONDITION is GOOD+, no dust jacket. Green cloth printed covers and spine exhibit considerable damp-staining, affecting entire spine, and lower, spine-side quadrant of front and back covers, but all titles and print to exterior remain clearly legible. Please see photos. Corners not bumped, but very light shelf wear to corners of boards, as well as to tail of spine, and more significant wear (from handling) to crown of spine. Small, square sticker residue to front cover, below-left of title. Otherwise book remains in excellent condition. Damp-stain does not affect interior of book whatsoever; neither pastedowns nor any interior leaves show evidence of water damage in any degree. Inside, the book is pristine and nearly as-new. Binding is very sound & square, and remains reasonably tight. Book is unmarked within, save for signatures of both authors in ink to half-title page. Text block is clean and undiminished, with nice, crisp linen leaves. With the addition of a jacket, or rebound, this would be a display-worthy copy, but is nevertheless a vintage collectible as-is.
