Description: VNTG LARGE Electric Motor ITO toy model speed BOAT Works Japan brass curvd mount Description Here's another listing by Lone Star Trains and Collectibles, Your Classic Era Toy and Train Headquarters! You're looking at a very interesting item--an early large motor with a curved brass mounting bracket. This is an original item from the 1940s. This unmarked motor is very similar to the TMY #3 (as well as the K&O #107a LARGE electric motor). I think this motor might be an earlier motor for use in brands such as ITO (Dragon Boat or King perhaps). Perhaps it was made by ITO. This is just what you have been looking for to put in that vintage large boat. Where many other motors have a nickel chrome style plate, this one has a brass one. Interestingly, while it is very similar to the TMY #3, unlike the TMY #3 (available in our other listings), the bracket for mounting is CURVED (versus straight) and has four holes--one on each corner of the curved bracket for mounting (versus the TMY#3 which has six). There is no brand or country visible on this one. Most likely Japan. The electric motor unit footprint is 3" x 1.5" x 15/16". I think it runs 6-12 volts dc. Most of the unit is a heavy die cast in a gunmetal gray color. If you collect vintage model or toy boats, this is one of those things you have to grab when you see it. These LARGE motors arehighly sought after. CONDITION: C-6+. Tested and works. Motor looks like it has some oxidation, so you may want to clean before significant use. Feels like heavy die cast casting and brass plate and brass curved mounting bracket. Some edgewear, rubs, paint nicks, and oxidation to the the metal. No box.
