Vintage Thanksgiving Turkey on Stuffed Crepe Pumpkin Candy Container Japan 1940s

Description: Welcome to Milkweed Antiques. This fun Thanksgiving turkey is made from hand painted bisque. He is black with gray, gold, brown, white, yellow, red, and green. He was made in Japan, but the mark is covered because the turkey is sitting in tissue paper grass that is on top of a stuffed crepe paper pumpkin. There is a cardboard plug on the bottom that pulls out to reveal the compartment for candy. This candy container is 3-5/8" tall x 2-3/4" wide and deep. The turkey is approximately 2" tall x 1-/2" wide and deep. This fun Thanksgiving candy container is from the 1940s.This candy container was used through the years. Unfortunately this piece still had candy in it when stored. There are signs of critter damage. As with old books, if you put them in a plastic bag, it kills any critters that may be left. I have put this in plastic since I got it. There are liquid stains. This piece does not have any associated odors. There is a bit of wear to the paint Please see the pictures.
