Description: Rolex Datejust Ref. 1603! This is a great vintage 1960's stainless steel Rolex Datejust ref. 1603 with "Shark Tooth" dial and "Sword" hands out of an estate. The watch is in a 36 mm stainless steel case with matching stainless steel engine-turned bezel and will fit 20 mm straps. The case and crystal show light scratches. Serial number 656xxx, dates to early 1961. The matching 1603 case back is date coded II.61. The model and serial numbers are legible between the lugs, however there is a good amount of corrosion/pitting that makes it difficult to read them.The dial shows age spotting - see photos.The watch is currently running, and smooth to wind/set. This vintage watch will need serviced after purchase, it's currently running fast, gaining about 11 sec/day according to our timing machine. We do not know the service history (outside of the fact that it went to Rolex in 2014) on this watch and recommend it be serviced after purchase.
