I originally thought this was a stencil, but it seems that Robert Drouet actually was a small producer of saxophones from the late 1920's to the 1950's. Apparently they were made to order in relatively low quantities. I'd guess that this one was made in the 1930's, or thereabouts. It seems to be of solid construction. It features satin silver plate finish, and some nice engraving on the bell. It has a fingernail file G# key, and the bell flare is a bit wider than normal. This horn is being sold as is. I did a brief play test, and was able to coax it down to low Bb, but it definitely isn't in proper playing condition. A leak light inspection reveals a number of leaks, although not as many as I would have expected to be honest. It probably could be adjusted back into decent playing condition, but due to the age of the pads a full overhaul would be advised for optimum playability. Physically speaking this horn is in overall very good condition. The only thing to note is that the neck receiver appears to have been resoldered. This has resulted in some excess solder around the repaired joint. Also it appears that whomever did this repair added three small screws to further stabilize the repair. This is really odd, and certainly not the textbook correct way of making this repair, but I doubt it produces any negative affect. Aside from that repair, it is in great shape. The body is straight. The neck has not been pulled down or otherwise damaged. There are no dents or dings to speak of. There might be a few tiny nicks, but you'd be hard pressed to find them. The silver plate finish is tarnished, but almost fully intact. There is some minor wear on a couple keys, and under/next to the thumb hook. The keys are all moving freely and rebounding properly/quickly when released. A couple of the mother of pearl rollers are not turning though. This horn comes in its original case. The case is solid, but very worn. The exterior covering in particular is very tattered. An old neck strap and lyre are included, along with the original metal end plug, but there is no mouthpiece, nor any other accessories. Please feel free to message me with any questions! Thanks again for looking!
