Description: This is a 1965 Grundig radio model 101-U AM-FM made in what was West Germany. I have always liked the styling of the European radios. Our soldiers stationed there brought many of these beauties home with them. Bought at a very recent radio show from a guy who did not want to repair it. The case has a real modern MCM look with walnut veneer and a large speaker cloth grille area. Love the walnut case with the off white speaker grille. No cracks, bumps or damaged spots but needed a complete touchup with new light walnut stain to even up the finish. Removed case to see the chassis. All the the original Telefunken tubes checked out. Deoxed all of the switches & pots. No problems. AM & FM stations came in clear with little to no static between them. Used a new 5 DIN European plug at the phono port on the back panel to connect my IPOD. I will include this special cable with the purchase. As you can see & hear on the video this radio sounds great. Look at the pics. This MCM Grundig radio cooks now. A real conversation piece that makes a grand statement . The size & refinished case with the lighted dial is impressive.
