Description: For your consideration is this vintage Ship-In-A-Bottle. Was unable to match this piece to any online comps or newspaper advertisements thus unable to date the piece. The blue hued bottle measuring 2.3 inches in diameter by 9.35 inches (9.5 inches with the cork) in height is embossed and reads "JƎ (within a circle) 340ml" which I was unable to match to any particular maker. The bottom of the bottle is painted in two tones of blue.....most has rubbed off over the years. The ship inside measuring 4.5 inches in length closest resembles a Bluenose. It has a black laquered bottom, red paper trim around the sides and has an iridescent black sand appearance on the deck. There are three wooden masts with fabric sails adhered to them and each bears a goldtone most likely plastic bead on top. The ship's rope is a silvertone cord with a sail adhered to the rope that attaches to the front mast and the wooden shaft used as the helm of the ship. The ship is not attached to the bottle itself and therefore moves freely. The original cork does appear old and has some damage to it. External portion has been gently wiped clean.Condition: Other than the cold-painted loss on the bottle, there is a little cork damage. No Chips or Cracks present. Also observed are three dark specs on one of the sails...looks like mildew, but uncertain. Item is stored in a climate controlled room within my home.Shop with confidence when you shop with us.
