Description: Up for sale is a vintage #8 Griswold Slant Logo ERIE 704-J cast iron skillet. The skillet is in very good condition and features a heat ring. The bottom of the pan shows signs of fire pitting which is caused by having been used over unclean sources of gas (very common back in the day before municipal gas was cleaned up). There are no cracks, but the pan does exhibit wobble and spin though it still cooks beautifully on my gas range. Likely produced at some point between 1909-1916, making it between 106-112 years old. A true piece of history. This particular pan was acquired from a small island off the coast of Maine. This pan has been seasoned multiple times with Buzzywax and then cooked in once or twice. Pan will be securely packed with bubble wrap and pool noodles.
