Spring assisted tensor arms with thumbscrew clamps to hold arms in position. Arms are approximately 17 3/4 inches in length.Arms move freely with a good range of motion; thumbscrew clamps secure the arms in the position of your choiceEdge Clamp holds the lamp base firmly in position and allows the lamp base to swivel. Edge clamp can be mounted on the right edge, left edge, top edge, or bottom edge if your worktable. Maximum clamp jaw opening 2 1/2 inches. My office worktable is 1 1/4 inches thick. Photos were taken in the garage, where the edge clamp was secured to a 3/4-inch board. This lamp has been used.
