Description: ***********Although the manual wind movement runs strong it losses about 2 minutes by the end of its approximate 41 hour power reserve period. Given that this watch is more than 55 years old and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended.***********This vintage 1969 Bulova Oceanographer, which came from the estate of its original owner, has an originally white "T SWISS MADE T" signed dial that has aged naturally to an beige hue. It is in lovely but not perfect condition as it shows wear. The lume, which no longer glows after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully. The all stainless steel case shows honest wear with no visible signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "BULOVA" and "STAINLESS STEEL CASE" with "G438493" followed by "M9" stamped along the inner edge. The crystal needs to be replaced. While I normally show pictures of the movements of watches that I put up for sale I'm unable to access the movement on this watch. The manual wind movement with semi-quickset date function runs strong, albeit a bit slow, and the date wheel completes rolling over at approximately 12:35 am. The semi-quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 22 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. After recently winding the sharply threaded "BULOVA" signed non-screwdown crown 50 full revolutions the movement lost about 2 minutes by the end of its approximate 41 hour power reserve period. The crown winds smoothly. Given that this watch is more than 55 years old and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended. This watch measures approximately 35 mm excluding the crown, approximately 37.5 mm including the crown and approximately 18 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the mid-case, is approximately 6.5 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 9 mm. A complete overhaul is recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given. And please study the 22 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.Expedited and insured shipping along with signature confirmation will be provided.
