Description: This stoneware cookie jar is in the Daisy and Dot pattern by MarCrest. On each side of the jar is the word, "Cookies" in script. This is what MarCrest's advertising called their "Jumbo Gallon size"... "This rich brown crockery is the new lighter weight and will stand 500° oven heat ... or freezer cold." In the 1950's this cookie jar sold for $1.95. Daisy and Dot was a popular dinnerware pattern into the 1960's, and would look great in any country, farmhouse or contemporary kitchen. Height: 9¼ in. (23.5 cm); diameter at top: 6 5/8 in. (16.9 cm); diameter at bottom: 7 3/8 in. (18.7 cm). The impressed mark on the base reads: "Mar-Crest /Oven Proof /Stoneware". This jar is in very good vintage condition
