Description: Vintage original Vietnam war in-country machine-embroidered patch, size is 3.5" by 3.5" - used condition. HMM-365, also known as the "Blue Knights," was a USMC helicopter squadron that served in Vietnam from 1965 to 1971. The squadron's primary mission was to provide air support for ground forces, including transport, resupply, and medical evacuation. One of the key roles of HMM-365 was to provide support for Combat Recovery Teams, which were small units of Marines and Navy corpsmen who were trained to evacuate wounded personnel from the battlefield. CRTs would be inserted into areas of heavy fighting to retrieve casualties and bring them back to a secure location for medical treatment. The missions of CRTs were often dangerous and required great courage and skill. They were typically carried out under fire, and the teams had to be prepared to fight their way in and out of the landing zones where they operated.
