Description: Original vintage US Army-issue Engineer Research Development Lab (ERDL) brown-dominant, hot-weather, camouflage uniform coat. Made from 100% rip-stop cotton fabric, this example is a size Medium Long, and is in used, excellent-plus condition. The ERDL camouflage patterns, both green dominant and brown dominant, were used extensively by US forces during the VIetnam War. Post-war the US Military developed a revised hot-weather uniform based on the brown-dominant variant. It was issued exclusively to the US Marines and the Army's Rapid Deployment Forces, notably the 18th Airborne Corps and its associated units. This uniform remained in service briefly until replaced by the more modern Woodland Pattern Battle Dress Uniform in 1981. This coat is from one of the last contracts and was made in 1980,
