Description: - Pin is in Very Good Condition.. - No Hallmark in the Back - The new 1st Special Forces Group designed its own distinctive insignia, which first appeared in 1958-59. The Torii Gate symbolized its base in Okinawa. Air, sea, and land infiltration are represented by arrows of light blue, dark blue, and green. The globe is depicted, harking back to the old 77th Group insignia. Crossed arrows are shown, referring back to the US Indian Scouts of the frontier era, and the First Special Service Force of World War II. (This is the first time the crossed arrows were used in Special Forces heraldry -- they would be continued in the later "De Oppresso Liber" insignia). The motto is "Ubique Sed Nusquam" -- "Everywhere, Yet Nowhere". - Check out my other Military Pins (DUI's), Military Patches and Military DVD's Listings...thx
