Description: ULTRA RARE GRANNY TAKES A TRIP BESPOKE TAIL SUIT MARC BOLAN T-REX On offer is an extremely rare, museum quality bespoke formal lurex "tail suit" that was made in England circa 1971-72i-sh and according to a former manager of the LA branch of the famed glam rock clothing shop( Granny Takes A Trip had branches in London, NYC and LA) this suit was in all likelihood made for the late Marc Bolan. He had a few other lurex tail suits made for his tiny frame and this suit is made in his exact measurements as remembered by the Granny Takes A Trip manager. There is no provenance as to it's having belonged to Marc Bolan but, it seems to have been made for him. Tailor made in England of dark gray Lurex with bemberg lining. The "cutaway tail coat" and matching trousers measurements are as follows; Shoulders laid flat-15” Shoulder to wrist-23” Pit to pit laid flat-17” (a 34" chest) Waist of jacket laid flat-15” (30") Shoulder to tail hem-35” Waist of pants laid flat-13” (26" waist) Rise-8” Hips laid flat-16” Inseam-26” Those are the exact measurements of all of Marc Bolan's other Granny Takes A Trip suits.
