Description: Two amulets, which appear to be ancient Egyptian, from our father's collection of curios and archaeological items. We previously sold on eBay an ancient Egyptian Shawabti, with a certificate of authenticity. Our father stored these pieces in the same plastic box as the Shawabti, so we believe he understood them to be archaeological items from ancient Egypt. Both amulets show ancient Egyptian heads. Both have a hole at the top and can be worn as necklaces. The amulets seem to be made of faience. The first one pictured measures about 1 3/8” at its longest point. The base measures about 1”. It retains a couple of small spots of green pigment. The second one pictured measures about 1 1/4” at its longest point. The base measures about 7/8”. It seems to have been dyed blue originally and retains much of the blue coloring. See photos! CONSUMER WARNING: We are not experts and have no documentation for these pieces. Therefore, we cannot authenticate them. Of course, we have no reason to believe they aren't authentic. Our father collected all sorts of odd items over his decades of activity. But we have set a relatively low opening bid with these caveats in mind. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Our father was a bibliophile who collected rare books, letters, and ephemera for more than 60 years. For now and into the foreseeable future, we will be listing rare paper items from his estate. Take a look at all our items for sale. We combine shipping upon request. Please LET US KNOW if you’ve purchased multiple items so we can combine.
