The 'Minister of Finance' MOF nominates a candidate to the Thai Cabinet. When the cabinet passes a resolution approving the candidate, it then presents it to the monarch for approval. Recent Factors: Mr. Predee Daochai (Born 9th of September 1958) served as Minister of Finance for 26 days in the second cabinet of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha. In September 2020, he resigned as MOF. His decision to resign caused repercussions within the printing industry: Mr. Veerathai Santiprabhob, GBT; Mr. Veerathai Santiprabhob stayed in office until the 30th of September 2020. The 20 -Baht banknotes were incomplete. The preceding and succeeding 'MOF’ and their respective ‘GBT’ signed 'Special Supplement 20-Baht. (Prefix Combinations (0A/พ - 3B/พ subs) Commonly referred to as “Triple Sign, Supplements or Subs” These banknotes vary in value from the 'lowest multipliers at 2.5 = 70 THB to the 'highest multipliers of 75' = 1,500 Baht The 100-Baht banknotes 137c; Sign; Daochai & Veerathai , were also incomplete. Prefixes: ท 1 J and 2 ท J were signed by Daochai & Santiprabhob and their successors. Other factors: Thai consonant พ represents the Thai replacement banknotes therefore for every mistake made within a batch. Example batch; ก 0 A 0-9 The พ A is used to replace the misprinted banknotes from that batch. This is true for all batches A -B-C-D-E etc. Collectors have the option to collect พ A, พ B.... During the final QC any notes that passed through unnoticed are replaced with พ + S. The least number of batches signed by both ‘MOF’ & ‘GBT’ are the rarest. The first and last batches are more valuable than the ones in between. Combine these factors to decide which ones to collect. *Occasionally a misprinted note gets through e.g., Series 2 only 50,000 notes printed but later a note found numbered; 56xxx. = ‘RARE-ERROR'. Predecessors; Uttama Savanayana 'MOF' and Veerathai Santiprabhob 'GBT' 1st of October 2015 - 30th of September 2020. Successors; Arkhom Termpittayapaisith (MOF) and Sethaput Suthiwartnarueput (GBT). 1st of October 2020, incumbent. The Thai Government also had secret codes added to every banknote. When you purchase a banknote from S.C.M we point out what and where the code is on each one. The only ones that do not have the secret code are the banknotes the British Government printed during WWII and put into circulation without informing the Thai Government. 'Free Siam banknotes' are highly sought after and well-priced. Refer to Pic. 4-9 and read how the process begins with codes engraved onto the copper plates.
