Description: This is a SUPER RARE 1947 Raggedy Ann Andy Doll 15" Tall Johnny Gruelle by Georgene Novelties. This doll has a variation for Andy's shirt (blue checkered instead of red checkered) and a variation on his socks (vertical stripes on one leg versus horizontal). These dolls were only make during these years and very hard to find. The doll is in good vintage condition but needs a good cleaning. He has a small split on his right foot along the seam which could be repaired. He has a few spots of slight discoloration but his face is in really nice condition. Eyes are wooden buttons. Smells a little musty but it is almost 100 years old. Please view the photos carefully and ask questions if you are unsure. What you see is what you are buying. I've done my best to describe this item but my description is subjective. Look at the photos carefully for yourself please. From the history of Raggedy Ann and Andy website: The Second World War imposed economies on everyone, including Raggedy Ann & Andy. The war-era dolls used the same face for both Ann and Andy and varied print fabrics for Ann’s dress and Andy’s shirt. 19″, 23″, 31″; no outline on nose; different prints of fabrics used on feet.
