They use a standard 1/8" shank and can be used with both Dremel and Foredom tools, routers and laminate trimmers, and CNC machines with the appropriate size collet. Upcut Bits cut a very clean bottom to the rout, with some fuzz around the top. These work well with harder woods like maple and ebony. . Downcut Bits cut a very clean top edge of the rout with some fuzz around the bottom. These are perfect for jobs like cutting purflings and soundhole rosettes on softer woods like spruce and mahogany.
