Description: MARVEL COMICS | MARVEL KNIGHTS Marvel Studios Marvel Cinematic Universe Speculative KeySPIDER-MAN 4: "BLUE OASIS" (2026)Amidst the chaos of Multiversal destruction, will Doctor Doom create an "oasis" for Peter Parker in the form of his new love interest, Gwen Stacy? Back in action following his year-long break from acting, TOM HOLLAND is already talking about the next installment of his ongoing Spider-Saga, SPIDER-MAN 4 -- and he's not the only one. While the film has vacillated between being a "street level" adventure and a film set squarely in the Multiverse, perhaps in an alternate reality or on Battleworld, the general consensus is that its story will see Peter, unrecognized by his friends and former crime-fighting colleagues, attending school while also prominently featuring Robert Downey Jr.'s DOCTOR DOOM. Doom's striking resemblance to the long-departed Tony Stark/Iron Man is rumored to be a mind-$%#@ for Peter, which Doom uses to his advantage, perhaps in creating a "wish fulfillment" scenario to distract and essentially eliminate the threat that Spider-Man represents to his plans. Aside from the rumored plot of the film, Spider-Man 4 has also been holding auditions for a new female lead in an unspecified role. With MJ, Peter's love longtime love interest played by Zendaya, having forgotten him, along with the fact that the working(and temporary) title for Spider-Man 4 is "BLUE OASIS", the leading speculation is that the movie may be getting its inspiration from Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale's SPIDER-MAN: BLUE, and that the GWEN STACY will be introduced in the film to serve as Doom's mechanism of distraction. Spider-Man: Blue is six-issue limited series told mostly in flashback, as Peter reflects on Gwen and recalls how they fell in love. It's a trip down Memory Lane, the story itself thus not "real" in the present, and it's one that ends with the well-known tragedy of Gwen falling to her death from the very top of the Brooklyn Bridge. Given Blue's surreal setting -- which jives well for a Multiversal story -- and its story of an intense love that ultimately ends in crushing tragedy being something that Doom, in his incredible cruelty, would manipulate as a weapon against his foe, the rumor mill's suggestion that Spider-Man Blue will be at the heart of Spider-Man 4 seems particularly spot-on. No Spider-Man movie has ever been able to feature both Mary Jane and Gwen Stacy within its chronological parameters, and Spider-Man 4 offers Marvel a chance to finally accomplish this feat. With ANDREW GARFIELD, the only on-screen Spider-Man whose love interest was Gwen Stacy and not Mary Jane, also rumored to make an appearance late in the film, the debut of Gwen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems like a sure bet.
