Description: Southwest American Indian Possibly Navajo Tribal Design Rug Wall Hanging This beautiful wall hanging is preowned and is in good and acceptable condition for the right person. This item was not used as a rug but was used as a wall hanging. The provenance of this item is not known. The item was a gift and at the time we didn't ask too many questions as we were young and unfortunately the "gifter" is no longer here to ask. It is believed to be from the United States. We have researched this item over the years and have found the exact pattern of the bird on other Navajo designs. This item is made of wool and is handwoven as one can see from the backside of the rug. The color is black and off white, or cream or light beige. The short ends of the rug have a fringe edge. We don't see any obvious staining or tears, there are no snags or holes, we tried to take very good care of it over the years. The measurements are approximately 40" long x 14.5" wide. The measurements DO NOT include the fringe on the ends, it was measured from fabric end to fabric end. Conditional issues of this item are light signs of wear and it may not be perfectly straight but that is the way it always has been and was most likely part of the intricacies of making of the item. It is a really nice piece and we would love to find a new home for this item with someone who will treasure it as much as we have. This has been owned by our family since the 1980s so it is a bit vintage. Please note, this item ships boxed to lessen any chance of damage to the item with the shipping carrier.
