It is marked on the undersides with the “ROYAL ALBERT / Bone China / England / FLOWER OF THE MONTH SERIES / August” logo. The flower for August is Poppy. Lovely bouquets of red Poppies and blue bachelor buttons with green foliage in various states of bloom adorn the exterior and interior of the Montrose-shaped footed cup along with gold detailing around the rim, base and handle. The interior of the cup has a bouquet of poppies with the word ‘August’ in a light brown script surrounded by the flowers and foliage. A pretty green trim surrounds the interior top of the cup. The saucer shares the same Poppy & foliage decoration on the front of its round and scalloped shape body with gilding on the rim. A lovely addition to your Flower of the Month series or to start something new! Measurements: The cup and saucer set stands approximately 3.25” in height to the top of the cup’s handle. The cup alone measures approximately 3” in height to the top of the cup’s handle and approximately 4.25” from the back of the handle to the front of the cup. It measures 3.5” across the rim from one side to the opposite side. The saucer measures approximately 5.5” in diameter. The cup and saucer set weighs approximately 10.2 ounces. All measurements are approximate, but close. Condition: We carefully examined this item. The cup and saucer are in excellent condition and each piece will ‘ping’ when lightly tapped with a finger. NO Chips, Cracks, Hairlines, Crazing, Scratches, Stains, Repairs or Restorations were noted. The gold detailing is also in excellent shape with no apparent wear on either piece.
