ROSEVILLE POTTERY, PINECONE, VERY LARGE GREEN JUG VASE, NICE DETAILED PINE CONES

Description: For auction is a lovely Jug vase made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is called "Pinecone" and it is done in their very sought after green background glaze. This pattern and color is one of Roseville's most desirable to collect. This vase is quite large as it measures 9 9/16" tall and is 9" in diameter at the shoulder. The top opening is 2 3/8" in diameter inside measurement not counting the spout. The vase displays a Jug form with an applied twig handle. It has a very pleasing soft green background glaze with undertones of white glaze on the center body of both sides. The vase depicts a realistic handle in the form of a branch. This is attached on the shoulder and reattached just under the raised top lip. On each side of the vase is a brown pine cone nestled between pine needles that protrude out from the bottom and top. These pine needles extend out from the pine cone. The pine cone is crisper and more detailed on one side than the other. One of the sides displays 2 pine cones and the other side only has 1. They both hang down from a twig with Pine Needles on each side. The inside has a wonderful creamy beige glaze and is extremely clean inside except some rust colored marks. This was Frank Ferrell's most popular design that he ever created while working at The Roseville Pottery Company. In fact, the company would have had to close it doors if it wasn't for the success of this line in the mid to late 1930's. The Pinecone line was considered the most popular line ever made at Roseville Pottery and that is still evident today. There are 4 colors that Pinecone was made in and they are Blue, Brown, Green and Pink. Pink Commands the highest price and is rarely seen. Blue commands the next highest price with Green and Brown not too far behind. The vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips or major dings. There are some rust colored stained on the inside and this cannot be seen. The piece is signed on the bottom with the Incised "Roseville" mark along with the mold number 708-9". There is also the large number "3" and "11" written in a blue grease pencil. This was more than likely the finishers marks. This is a quality piece of art pottery that will enhance any art pottery collection, especially those of you who collect Roseville Pinecone in green. This vase by Roseville is considered HTF and somewhat rare in this color. This vase was made circa 1935-45. This is a very large vase and fits in a 17x17x17 outer box. PLEASE READ BELOW I want to apologize for slowing down my shipping time. Ebay forced me into managed payments in July 2020. I used to get my money in 24 hours. I now get it in 3-4 business days. I was told it would be better for me and my fees would go down. This has been the opposite as my fees have actually increased and now it takes longer for me to receive the payments. Because of this slowdown I will not ship until the payment has made it into my bank account. No store lets you out of the building with the merchandise unless it is paid for. They are also now charging all sellers a commission of 12.35% on sales tax. Pay Pal used to charge 2.9% payment processing fee but Ebay has changed this to 12.35%. This is an increase of 9.45% on the sales tax portion. They are now making a profit on the sales tax and treating it as a sale which in my eyes is wrong!! They did the same on the shipping charges several years ago. They use to not charge anything and now they are charging 12.35% commission on shipping as well. This has raised the cost to ship items to you, the buyer and this is factored into my shipping charges. If you feel what Ebay is doing is wrong or you don't agree them please contact Ebay and voice your opinion. Maybe if enough of you do this, they will change their policy.
