Description: This burner assembly was removed from a 40 gallon Rheem natural gas water heater. This burner may work with SOME 40 gallon tanks using part number AM46745 / AS44922-1. The only difference is the main burner orfice size 36 (AP7492T12) and on the 50 gallon part number uses a 34 (AP7492W-12). You should measure the distance from the burner to the plate when using on any 40 gallon since two different burner lengths are used; most 50 gallons use the same length. It's always best to replace using the same part number. This part number is AM46745 & AS44922-1 The burner assembly was tested and works perfectly. We verified the following: - Ceramic for ignitor has no cracks and works - Main burner tube is clear of obstruction - Pilot tube is clear of obstruction - Thermopile has proper voltage tested for 60 to 90 seconds with a reading greater than 600 MV DC volts - Sight Glass window cleaned for like new view - Pilot Assembly grommet are inspected or replaced - Assembly is cleaned See photos for condition
