But none of the contents have been opened or used in any way.This is a super rare model kit from 1977. Big 6 Classic Replicas was a model kit maker out of London, England. They put together a series of model kits with all the 24 Hours of Le Mans winners from 1923 to 1977 (50 years - 45 cars, the race was not run during WW2). There were a total of 9 kits with 5 cars in each kit. This kit contains the winners from 1956 through 1960. This was the first kit released by Big 6 in 1977. They release this set first because it had the 1956 winner in. 1956 was the Golden Jubilee Race (50-year anniversary of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest, the organizer of the Le Mans race.The models are die-cast metal with chrome plated parts. They are 1:76 scale. The cars included in this set are the following:1956 Winner - Jaguar D-Type 3.4 - Great Britain - Driven by Ron Flockhart and Ninian Sanderson1957 Winner - Januar D-Type 3.8 - Great Britain - Driven by Ron Flockhart and Igor Bueb1958 Winner - Ferrari 250 TR - Italy - Driven by Oliver Gendebien and Phil Hill1959 Winner - Aston Martin DBR1 - Great Britain - Driven by Carroll Shelby and Roy Salvadori1960 Winner - Ferrari TR60 - Italy - Driven by Oliver Gendebien and Paul FrereVery little is known by me of Big 6 Classic Replicas. They were located in London, England. It appears they began making model kits in the early 1960s, or possibly the late 1950s. Models were made of die-cast metal, plated metal, and plastic. They made replica models of famous automobiles, motorcycles, and ships. Any model kits from Big 6 are extremely rare. I have not been able to find a single model kit (in any condition) from the 24 Hours of Le Mans series other than this one that is offered for sale. I have only seen one other model kit from Big 6, a 1:8 scale model of an AJS 7R 350cc racing motorcycle that was released in 1961. This kit and the box are in excellent condition. The kit is 100% complete, including the instructions and two information papers, one about the 24 Hours of Le Mans series of model kits and one about the Le Mans races from 1956 to 1960. It is really an amazing kit made by people who really cared about the vehicles.
