Description: Saint Pierre et Miquelon 20 Francs 1942 - Caisse de la France Libre P.12 - VERY RARE! VF35-XF40 (This is my opinion - the note is ungraded) Location: Saint Pierre et Miquelon - French colony in North America Issue Date: 1943 (Ordonance du 2 Décembre 1941) Issues: ONLY 30,000 banknotes (30,001-1,000,000 were supposedly lost at sea) Denomination: 20 Francs Printed: Bradbury and Wilkinson of London - in the UK during german occupation of France Numizon Rarity Index: 4 Stars Design: Edmund Dulac Depicted: Marianne (Symbol of French Republic and freedom) Period: This is shortly after General DeGaulle reinstalled France as the sovereign nation of SPM when he started getting back the former colonies of France to fight as the Free French and Forces Navales Française Libre. That government was not recognized by the German occupied French Vichy government. Condition: I have tried to best show it's condition on the photos. I think they show the staining, folds/creases, and the pinholes. The paper feels fantastic, very crisp. If you need more photos, please ask. PMG has only 3 graded higher than VF25 (Two VF30 and one AU55). If it gets graded it will likely be 2nd or 3rd highest grade. Please see Photos. If you collect these, you know those serial numbers are rare and so collectible! One in this shape only comes up for sale every few years.
