Description: Rare Rustic Antique Crosscut Hand SawMade by Warranted Superior60" / 5' Long These old saws from the early 1900's are sought after and prized. This one has great rusty patina, and the handle has seen a fair bit of use. This saw was discovered in the attic of our 1908 Craftsman house we purchased in Los Angeles. I imagine it was used in the construction of the home. The blade is not bent or twisted, and the teeth are straight and sharp. The "Warranted- Superior" button medallion is in handle. Medallion shows the spread eagle, barely legible. It has the Champion tooth pattern, mostly used for crosscutting hard woods. I believe this saw was manufacture between 1901-1926. The blade is 60 inches long. There is a hole at each end of the blade so the supplementary helper's handles can be mounted for extra leverage or for two-man use. Probably best use as a wall hanger. It would be a wonderful decorative element in a rustic cabin or cottage.
