Artisan made by Sara Baker in 1989, this realistic figure is incredibly detailed right down to Santa's blue eyes! Mr. Claus stands on a sturdy wooden base that measures approx. 11.5 by 10 inches, supported by a sturdy wooden dowel and carries a sack full of toys and a wooden walking stick. His hair and beard are curly natural mohair wool and his coat is made of deep red soft felt-like material, not shiny like velvet. Mittens and boots are also made of felt, his large toy sack is burlap and small satchel is brown leather. Father Christmas was made to look vintage...other Santas I have seen by this artist are made with the same realistic features and fabrics. I remember my mother purchased him to use as a store display in her antique store... she paid well over $1000 wholesale for Father Christmas...Just a wonderful piece of Christmas decor!!
