Description: Rare and In Excellent condition vintage Miriam Haskell large brooch and earring set/demi parure, late 1940s, early 1950s. All pieces are hallmarked. The brooch has the horseshoe Miriam hallmark - rare piece. The set is in excellent condition. The large measures 3 7/8" long by 1" wide at widest point. The clip-on earrings measure approximately 1" in diameter. The rhinestones are bright and shiny and are set in Miriam Haskell's signature gilt metal and filigree! This set is amazing, particularly for its age. Very well taken care of - please read provenance below. All stones original. No repairs. Exquisite set!! Buyer will not be disappointed!!!! No verdigris! INTERESTING PROVENANCE: This set was purchased at an antique store in New York. The purchase included many pieces of Miriam Haskell jewelry including this rare, lovely rhinestone suite. The woman who owned this jewelry was 100, but used to work in the jewelry department at high end retailer Addis Company Department Store in Syracuse, New York and possibly other high end department stores in Syracuse as well. After 63 years as one of downtown Syracuse's top retail destinations, Addis closed in 1992, three years after they merged with the Dey Brothers Department Store.
