Description: Original and beautiful WWI era German Quillback Bayonet and Scabbard. This bayonet was exported to Peru to fit on the GEW 98 Mauser Rifle (Peruvian M-1909). The bayonet was manufactured by Simson & Co. Suhl and so marked on the ricasso. Also serialized on the cross guard and bares the Peruvian crest on the pommel. Blade remains in beautiful condition, never cleaned nor polished, never sharpened, and remains arsenal bright in color. Wooden handles are original to the bayonet and remain excellent. Bayonet catch is intact and works flawlessly. Leather scabbard with metal fittings is original to the bayonet and as well remains in excellent condition. These Peruvian M-1909 export bayonet are most uncommon. The survivability of these bayonets are almost nil, and are a very rare bayonet indeed. Free USPS Priority Shipping.
