Condition:This rare deck is in "Excellent" condition with minimal signs of use and nice, bright meters! So what puts the "Y" in Minty? After a close inspection we found a nice, clean front panel with no signs of previous mounting to the rack ears, the only thing worth mentioning is a few light scratches from handling, some too faint to make out well in the pics. If it weren't for this trivial thing we would have had no problem calling this beauty fully "Mint!" All original knobs and buttons are present and complete as is the attached AC Cord. The included original Owner's Manual is also in excellent condition as is the Tascam RC-134 Wired Remote Control which just has a few scuffs and scratches. The spec sheet shown is for reference only. All comes in the pictured generic box with custom Styrofoam packing. Please examine all the pictures thoroughly for actual condition. Service:So why refurbish a deck with such little use? After years of experience evaluating this equipment, we are keenly aware that many of these vintage items that have gone unused for decades is for a good reason. Often it was returned due to a flaw, anything from a scuff to not working at all! So no matter what, all items that appear unused are thoroughly scrutinized for any issues before we can put our guarantee on it.First, this example was made for the Asian market, so our tech adjusted the voltage from 100V to 120V for US use.Also, this deck has a know issue with the capstan motor requiring an upgrade on most examples. BUT, we found that certain decks at the end of the run had the issue corrected at the factory. These decks can be identified by a 7-digit serial number starting with 6, 7, 8 or 9. Regardless, after refurb we always double-check with an extended speed and W&F stability test to assure the issue will not appear. In addition, whether or not it is showing symptoms, the C-gear is always replaced with a real, injection-molded gear, not made on a 3-D printer in someone's basement. Both of the VU lamps were still working, still both were replaced with long-life LEDs with a Warm White color. We were using 3-segment LEDs but they were really too bright, so we have sourced some 2-segment LEDs to closer replicate the original incandescents.
