Description: This 1940's vintage photo album contains (37) black and white photo's measuring from 3.75" x 4.75" to 3.87" x 4.87". The photo's range from tanks, artillery, bombers and ships to prisoner of war camp photo's, surrender photo and combat casualties. The photo's shown on this page show 33 of the 37 photos in the album. The album measures 12.25" x 14.5". The album condition is very good and definitely period to the '40's. The photos are in very good condition. Caveat: I purchased the 37 photos in a larger random set of photos 22+ years ago. When I saw what I bought, I searched for a period album that would do them justice and mounted the photos with period corner mounts. That is what I'm selling now. The photo's could be very early reprints but the quality of the photo as well as the age-related coloring of the aged paper would indicate period dating. It is a phenomenal set of historical documentation of the tragedy of war and the horrors which live in the minds of faithful men and women who sacrificed their lives for those of us younger. My dad served in WWII in New Guinea, Philippines, Luzon and the Solomon Islands. The resultant PTSD he lived with for another 52 years was sad, but better understood today.
