Description: This original map published by the War Department in 1945 depicts the major transportation throughways in the city of Berlin. My father was a paratrooper assigned to the 509th PIB in 1944. After the Battle of the Bulge he was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division. The unit was assigned to Berlin during the occupation. He acquired this map and many other items before he came back to the States in December 1945. The condition is very good at a minimum and even survived what appears to be cigarette burns when it was likely laid across an ashtray.
