Description: Here is a treasure! Take a look at this beautiful antique/vintage etching of the magnificent Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France. We love the juxtaposition of the awe inspiring religious architecture commanding the background space while the rendering of the humble bookseller stalls draws our focus to the foreground. We love the couple rowing peacefully down the Seine in mid-ground. This subject matter appears in other similar etchings, and we know Notre Dame was a favorite subject of impressionist master, Claude Monet. This one is just really special. The plate mark impression is so pronounced! The image is perfect. The paper has yellowed and has typical signs of wear on the edges and corners as seen in the photos. It is signed by the artist, but we could not identify the name. We are guessing the piece might be antique, circa 1890-1925 as we could not find a blindstamp. Please look and read carefully as we cannot offer return on this item. Sullivan's Studio is a new art-related store, but we are long-time ebay sellers.
