NATALIE WOOD - TYPED LETTER SIGNED 03/21/1973 - HFSID 265309 NATALIE WOOD A signed letter from the actress dated 1973 asking about some confusion on a recent tax form Typed Letter signed: "Natalie", front and verso, 6x8. On letterhead of Robert Wagner. No place, 1973 March 21. No addressee, but with "received" stamp of Edward Traubner & Co., Inc below signature. Signed on verso. In full: "In the Wagner Consolidated Statement of Oct. 31, 1972 in the Recap of Federal and State Taxes there are two over-payments listed. One to Federal Taxes in the amount of $16,598.66 and the other to State Tax in the amount of $4,994.56 making a total due us from the government of $21,593.22. Is this correct? Because on our Feb. 28, 1973 statement these amounts do not appear at all in the Recap of Federal and State Taxes but in the Receivable Accounts the amount listed as due from the Internal Revenue is only $13,761.00. Would you explain this seeming discrepancy to us? We do not recall receiving any payments from the Internal Revenue. Also in the Feb. 28, 1973 statement there is a Misc. Acct. Receivable listed for the current month of $654.08. Could you write and tell us what that represents? Also I believe there was an error in listing 638 Faring Road as one of our residences. Looking forward to hearing from you. Many thanks. Best regards." File holes at top center. Staple holes in upper left corner, front side. Pencil note (unknown hand) in front lower left. Overall, fine condition. Accompanied by unsigned photo of Wood (color, 8x10). Fine condition. Natalie Wood (1938-1981) successfully made the transition from child star (1947's holiday favorite Miracle on 34th Street) to screen ingnue to accomplished mature actress. Along with Elizabeth Taylor, the photogenic Wood was a queen of the fan magazines in the 1950s and proved her talent with Academy Award nominations for Rebel Without a Cause (1955), Splendor in the Grass (1961) and Love with the Proper Stranger (1963). Other film credits of the versatile actress include The Searchers (1956), West Side Story (1961), and Gypsy (1962). She received eight Golden Globe nominations during her career. While on a boat with husband Robert Wagner and colleague Christopher Walken, Wood mysteriously fell off the boat and drowned. Two items.
