Description: Myler English Dee D Ring w/ Hooks Comfort Barrel Snaffle MB 02 Lvl 1 Bit 5.5 in Myler English Dee D Ring with Hooks Comfort Barrel Snaffle MB 02 Level 1 Bit 5.5 inches Wide Click image to enlarge Description This is a clean very lightly used pre owned Level 1 Myler Toklat stainless steel 3.75 inch Dee ring English comfort "snaffle bit" with a stainless steel MB 02 wide barrel mouthpiece that measures 5.5 inches wide with 3/8 inch diameter bars shaped in a pronounced curve to promote comfortable swallowing and inlaid copper on the bars to encourage salivation. This mouthpiece is a stainless steel snaffle Myler Level 1 bit with zero leverage. The mouthpiece is three pieces with a 1 inch wide "barrel bushing" center link. The dee with hooks is a stainless steel "D" shaped ring with fixed attachment of the mouthpiece, as well as slots (hooks) at the top and bottom of the ring for bridle and rein attachment. The small loop behind the top slot accommodates a curb strap (attaches with two curb hooks). Both the top bridle slot and bottom rein slot on the dee will fit standard ⅝ inch bridle leather. The hooks make this a much more versatile version of the dee without hooks. Attaching the headstall to the top hook holds the bit in the correct position instead of allowing it to slide around the bridle cheek pieces. Attaching the reins to the rein hooks allow the rider to lift the cheek and use the Independent Side Movement™ of the mouthpiece. Using the hooks does not add leverage but allows the rider to transition from a direct rein action to indirect action without changing the bit. Adding a curb strap incorporates curb pressure. Curb pressure is recommended for ported mouthpieces The flexibility of the MB 02 makes it very forgiving and comforting when relaxed, but offers the rider control when engaged. The pressure on the tongue is distributed across the mouthpiece. However, its flexibility makes it a forgiving mouthpiece that works well for horses who have suffered mouth trauma or damage, or horses that temd to go behind the bit. The Myler Bitting System is a graduated system, meaning that as your horse learns and progresses through his training, you will change the way you communicate with him by re-bitting him periodically. Each Myler Bit is designed to use select pressure points for the best communication for that level. This Myler Level 2 Dee is great for horses who have just begun training, are learning basic gaits, transitions, and obedience, and have begun to "break at the poll". This is a very comfortable bit for the horse due to its ergonomic curvature design. The unique curved bars of all Myler bits are ergonically designed to accommodate the natural anatomy of the horse's mouth, wrapping the bars and lips instead of pinching as the mouthpiece rotates onto the tongue.
