Description: M.J. Hummel 'Book Worm' Bookend -Boy Reading Book w/ Original Sticker. Recently received from grandmother's collection. Excellent condition, no chips, cracks or other imperfections. Contains original sand to weigh down for bookend. Authentic Vintage Hummel figurines (production started in 1935) and made in Germany. Based on Sister Maria Hummel’s drawings, American soldiers stationed in West Germany after WWII would send them home as gifts, and subsequently became collector’s items. This edition of the Book Worm figurine was manufactured from 1960-1972 according to the official stamp (TMK-3). I am also selling another 12 figurines made in the 1950s, 60s and early 70s, with some being very rare and valuable (see photo showing each production year stamp).
