McIntosh Mc2250

Description: I am reluctantly selling my MC2250 ahead of a potential international move. It’s been a great amp but I’ve downsized my system and already sold off the preamp. This amp is relatively rare and I’ve seen them posted for $4K. I am the second owner. It was originally purchased by a doctor who passed around 2014 and I acquired it and other pieces of McIntosh gear from their estate sale. To my knowledge, it has never been serviced beyond putting some faderlube on the gain pots. I called McIntosh and they told me there was no reason to service it if it was performing well, and I followed their instructions. I’ve tried to capture flaws in the photos. From a few feet away it looks perfect, but there are some hairline scratches on the front. I photographed the worst one on the top right corner. The lower right corner is slightly bent as is the top left, but less so. I never attempted to straighten it but know it can be done. The streak marks on the top are also not able to come off. These are all minor flaws but I’m listing them in detail for full disclosure. Sound-wise, it’s phenomenal. It stands up very well to modern gear costing multiples of this. I’ve hooked it up to many different kinds of speakers and it plays nicely with all of them. At 250W into 8 ohms, it can drive pretty much anything under the sun.
