The front panel glass is in good condition, and all backlights are functioning. There is a small bubble approximately 0.20 inches next to the headphone jack on the backside of the glass, but otherwise, there are no significant issues. The top of the amplifier and the heat sink show no noticeable scratches or discoloration. The rear side is also free of significant scratches, and the terminals are in good condition. While there may be minor scratches upon close inspection due to its age, it is considered to be in excellent condition overall. This MC2125 is a transistor amplifier that uses McIntosh's unique auto-transformer for output. Unlike most transistor amplifiers that connect speakers directly to the output stage, McIntosh uses an output transformer between the output stage and the speakers, enhancing stability and robustness. The amplifier is considerably large and heavy due to the inclusion of a large output transformer, which allows for impedance matching with a wide range of speakers while delivering a continuous rated output of 120W. The output relay has been replaced by our company due to contact issues. According to the previous owner, all signal circuit capacitors were replaced in 2005 by a repair company (documentation available), and no issues were found during the operational check, indicating that no further maintenance is needed at this time. The front backlights were checked, and one meter backlight was found to be out, so all six were replaced as a precaution (the old bulbs that were still functioning are included as spares).
