Description: For sale today is the rare and out-of-print (oop) Marvel Comics trade paperback (tpb)/graphic novel Marvel Masterworks: Amazing Spider-Man (Volume 3) (Barnes & Noble Edition) by the comic legends Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, published in 2004. It is 272 pages long. Collects Amazing Spider-Man (1963-1998 1st Series) #20-30 and ANNUAL #2. Written by STAN LEE. Art by STEVE DITKO. Cover by STEVE DITKO and DEAN WHITE. There's no Spidey like Stan Lee/Steve Ditko Spidey, and the MARVEL MASTERWORKS are here to prove it once again with another heaping helping of webslinging wonderment! Teenage outcast and king of the wallflowers, Peter Parker, may have the most amazing powers in the super-hero biz, but good luck coming up with more downsides than this cat. Not only does his boss, J. Jonah Jameson consider him Public Enemy #1, he's sending not just one, but two villains after him-Mac Gargan, the Scorpion, and the vicious Spider-Slayer. And to add insult to injury, the Human Torch one-ups him against the Beetle and the Circus of Crime offers a whole host of reasons to hate peanuts. After that anybody'd need therapy, so Spidey hits the couch, and the couch hits right back with a mysterious foe that's going to give Parker's complexes complexes! To make matters worse, the Green Goblin teams up with the Crime-Master, Aunt May finds a certain red and blue costume, and the Molten Man makes high school graduation a day to remember in Forest Hills, Queens. Top that off with a classic team-up between Lee and Ditko's greatest creations, Spidey and Dr. Strange, and you've got yourself a cover-to-cover classic! I am not a comics grader, but I try to be as thorough as possible when assessing books for any flaws. I don't believe in using a number grade system - to me they are mostly utilized as a method to be ambiguous about exact condition and/or individual imperfections - but I do attempt to describe anything other than minor cover shelf-scuffing/scratching in detail. If a certain flaw discussed below does not mention that it affects inside pages, then it does not. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This copy is in good to very good condition, with a solid spine and excellent overall inside pages (photo#12 example). It has some primarily lighter and external signs of wear. **Photo#4: -Upper spine corner: Minimal wear. **Photo#5: -Lower spine corner: Light indent around corner. Small but moderate peel where it meets the front cover. **Photo#6 (w/illumination): -Front cover top edge: Small scuff/scratch near spine corner. Light scuffing around outer corner. A few small cover film peels starting adjacent the edge's middle.-Outer corner: Tiny scuff/bend, goes lightly thru ~5 pages. **Photo#7 (w/illumination):-Front cover bottom edge: Tiny indent towards spine corner, small indent towards outer corner - both are light and show on ~6 pages each. One other small indent near the edge's middle, shows on ~15 pages. Scuffing leading to the outer corner.-Outer corner: Small scuff/bend, goes thru ~1/2 pages as a light bend. **Photo#8: -Back cover top edge: Light if any shelf-wear.-Outer corner: Tiny scuff/bend, goes thru ~2/3 pages as a light bend. **Photo#9:-Back cover bottom edge: Light shelf-scuffing.-Outer corner: Tiny scuff/bend, goes thru ~12 pages lightly. **Additionally: Front cover has has a light ~1/2" crease/depression on the title. Nearby light ~3/4" indent/scratch, with three more near the page edge's middle (photo#10 w/illumination). Back cover possesses two light ~1" depressions around its center (photo#11 w/illumination). Book has a light bottom outer quadrant flex/bend. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I both buy to read as well as sell TPBs on here, so I understand how aggravating it is to receive a comic damaged in transit. I always pack any books between pieces of cardboard, with either a bubble or cardboard mailer, or a box for larger lots. If you have any questions or would like any additional photos, feel free to let me know. I'm always happy to try to combine shipping, just message me before purchase! Thanks, and have an amazing day!
