This historic piece features a striking black transfer print inscription honoring the late monarch: “TO THE MEMORY OF HIS LATE MAJESTY KING GEORGE THE IV BORN AUG’T 12 1762 ASCENDED THE THRONE JAN’Y 29 1820 PUBLICLY PROCLAIMED **** 31 DEPARTED THIS LIFE JUNE 26 1830 AGED 68 YEARS” On one side, there is a finely detailed portrait of King George IV, while the opposite side bears the inscription. Beneath the spout, the jug is adorned with the Royal crest, lending it a regal touch. The exterior and interior are further enhanced by delicate floral transfers, all enveloped in a stunning pink lustre glaze. Condition: •Some notable wear and crazing consistent with age and use.
