Lot 2 Christie's Old Organ O.F. Walton Moody Colportage #57 Dime Novels 1897

Description: ITEM SPECIFIC: Obscure Dime Novel series of "Moody's Colportage Series". Original and 20s (estimated) reprint of the same book. Original (red/orange cover): G/VG. Dated "December 1897" on the front cover. Bottom 3" of front cover is torn along bottom of spine edge. Dogearred bottom corner. Back cover is torn 4" along bottom of spine edge. Dogerred top corner. Inside pages clean and complete. Tight, clean page edges. Still tightly bound and high quality page paper. Reprint: Fine. Besides a faint stain under the "M" in "Mrs." on the front cover, and some mild shelf/storage wear, could be consider like new. If it was a modern printing from some indie publishing house, I wouldn't doubt it was new if found in a store. Very clean, perfect page edges. Compete spine with very little wrinkling. Inside pages are in perfect condition besides typical age darkening around page edges. Lower quality page paper than the other one, but better condition. Please examine photos closely to assess condition. Book(s) may have mild "old book smell" and shelf/storage wear difficult to see in photos. As these books are delicate, I do not survey every page for condition. These books were discovered stored in cardboard boxes amongst the stock of a long-closed used book store in Vermont. If you have any additional concerns about the condition of an item, please contact me. As these are cheaply produced books, sometimes further information is difficult to find. This includes accurate copyrights and whether or not a book is a “first printing” or first edition of whatever. I provide the information found within the book and do some light research on the dimenovels.org database. Unless otherwise requested, book will be sleeved in polypropylene, placed between two pieces of scrap cardboard for rigidity, and shipped via media mail in a padded mailer.
