Description: Lewis, Eric Hoffstainer 4/4 Mdl. 169, German Violin, 1995 with Hard Case and J.T. Jet Carbon Fiber Bow This is an upper quality, intermediate-plus level, Lewis violin with obvious aesthetic flaming, more conventionally acceptable varnish, and it is louder and more responsive to play.The Eric Hoffstainer German violin has a warm and powerful sound, with a darker tone compared to lighter Italian instruments. It is very elegant and constructed with masterly craftsmanship. The fittings are especially fine with metal rings on the fine Ebony pegs and metal pins also on the pegs and the endpin, which combined with the highly figured Maple back and superb soundboard, communicates immediately to everyone that this violin is of outstanding quality.The bow is a J.T. Jet carbon fiber model that is fully adjustable with ample hair. The violin is in very good condition even considering the small nicks on the top and a few light scratches. Neither the case nor the bow is original to the violin, but both are in fine condition.
