Perfect for those who appreciate unique and timeless pieces. Stamped Norway Sterling 925s and Aksel Holmsen's silver mark. Aksel Holmsen was a silversmith from Norway. After training with a well-known Norwegian firm, he established his own workshop in the early 1900s. His business is known for producing filigree pieces as well as colorful enameled jewelry in both traditional Norwegian and Modernist designs.Aksel Holmsen trained with David Andersen at his gold and silversmithing workshop in Oslo, Norway, from 1889 through 1892. He concentrated on silver filigree work while apprenticing with Andersen. Holmsen then opened his own workshop in Oslo in 1904 and became part of the community of metalsmiths that set the standard for Modernist design as the 20th century progressed. I noticed that on the two lower, violet-colored petals right at the connection point that there is a millimeter of enamel that may have chipped off. It is undetectable to the eye when wearing as it is covered by the large opening of the orchid. FREE shipping to US. International shipping is available at a low cost.
