Acrylic is not as fragile as glass, it is hard, and has a high toughness. The acrylic plate is laser etched and should be considered like a hand crafted item, each item will vary slightly. It may have slight imperfections but they are usually not detectable. We sometimes apply materials to the acrylic and those surfaces may have some slight bumps caused by foreign material on surfaces. I strive for a great quality product and most customers agree the product looks much better than expected. LED BASE Origin of Manufacturer There is no USA Manufacturer for the LED BASE, some companies don't disclose that they are made in China.
