Description: Item Description:You are bidding on one (1) assembled PCB for a 4:1 remote antenna switch. The switch has SO-239 connectors. There is no manual with the board. The first three pictures show the front and back of the board and the connector layout. The boards are double sided plated through 2oz copper PCBs with and silkscreen and solder mask. The board size is 4.35" by 3.05". The board uses standoffs under the SO-239s that are soldered to the board ground plane. This means that the "nuts" holding the SO-239s in place are captive on the board. Less chance of screws loosening up due to PCB "flow" over time. It is intended that the board is mounted using the SO-239 connectors. The connectors can be attached using two screws or four. The relay control connection is a 5 pin screw terminal connector (4 control lines and ground). The relay return is connected to the ground plane. The relays used are DPDT 400V 8A with the contacts wired in parallel (16A) and should have adequate with margin for most modern transceivers. Note: 1KW is only 223Vrms at 4.5A into 50 ohms but a high SWR can increase voltage levels. The deselected antennas are connected to the ground plane on the board. If no antenna is selected (power OFF), all are connected to ground and the common (radio) connection is open.A 1.5 meg ohm resistor bleeds static from the selected antenna so high voltage static charges do not build up.There is provision for two CG2350L 20KW gas discharge tubes (installed). Mouser and DigiKey have an aluminum box that will fit the board, Hammond 1590U 4.7" X 4.7" and is available in other configurations (mounting flange, color).RF data: Loss at 30MHz <0.1dBm Isolation from radio port to either antenna when OFF at 30MHz <70dB Both numbers should improve as frequency is lowered. As with anything connected to an antenna, all of the metal parts should be well grounded. A ground rod must be connected to the antenna relay box (or coax connector ground if plastic box used) as close as possible to the box. This unit does not provide protection from direct lightning strikes, no system with relays can do that. The coax and control lines should be disconnected when not in use or at least during thunderstorms.
