This soldering iron is ideal for the following: Electronic components, fine gauge wire (26-36 AWG), medium gauge wire (18-24 AWG), speaker wire and terminals, small electric motor terminals. The power boost feature will allow heavy duty applications for a limited time. Note: This is a 110/120 volt iron. You must use a step down transformer if using with 220/240 volts. Using this iron directly on 220/240 volts will damage the iron and void the warranty.SOLDERING IRON The HAKKO Presto irons are light-duty soldering irons with a difference — there is a (yellow) switch allowing the user to kick up the power for occasional heavy-duty applications. The iron delivers 20W power normally, but when quick heat-up is needed, or when a large amount of energy is temporarily required (such as soldering relays or connectors) the yellow switch allows for 130W of power. 824°F Normal Operating Temperature 1166°F Tip temperature after using the boost feature for 30 seconds. 1292°F Tip temperature after two to three repetitive uses of the boost feature for 30 seconds with an interval of 40 seconds between each boost.
