A mesmerising art glass vase created in 1997 by world-renown Western Australian artist, Gerry Reilly. This is a captivating piece with a stunning flow. I love the contrast in colour between the vivid pink-wave top and the dull, greenish colour of the base section. The piece is signed clearly to the base “Melting Pot Glass WA ’97”.Hot glass designer and artist, Gerry Reilly creates a captivating range of handcrafted blown art glass designs from the Melting Pot Glass Studio in Margaret River WA. Gerry has owned and operated Melting Pot Studios for the past 30 years. In 2014, his studio moved from main street to his beautiful 1.5ha property, west of Margaret River. Gerry started his journey in hot glass after training in Ceramics & Glass at Monash University and University of Tasmania. He worked in clay and glass studios in Tasmania and SA, including the Jam Factory Craft Workshop, before settling in the south west of WA in the mid-1980s. He has been the recipient of numerous awards and has exhibited nationally and internationally. In 2017, Gerry was commissioned to create a major artwork for the Intercontinental Hotel in Perth, collaborating with architect Eva Sue, on a magnificent three-part hanging installation, Forest Drift, in the hotel foyer, made with 72 blown glass leaves. The commission also included platters in every guest room; sculptures and vases in the upstairs VIP breakfast room. The following year, Gerry Reilly created Effervescence for Perth’s Optus Stadium with over 80 glass bubbles suspended across the roof of the ground floor VIP Locker Room bar.The Reilly piece offered in this listing adds a nice touch to any collection of art glass as shown in our array of photos.Art-glass pumped out of factories in the thousands by machines is cheap but rarely ignites any inspiration and passion- most ends up as landfill within a few years because after the trend has moved on the piece is basically worthless. Gerry Reilly’s work shows an artist’s heart and soul and the expertise of a master at the height of his game. Hand-crafted work of this standard supersedes trends and will continue to tell stories for generations to come. There are very few better ways to invest in your home and the future of our environment.NOTE- ebay wouldn't accept our photo of the signature on the base. It is on our website if you need to see it.Condition and DimensionsTo be updated on ebay shortly or find this information elsewhere online. For those needing pick-up this MUST be arranged before you click the Buy It Now button. POSTAGE is offered internationally. Below are careful estimates for postages prices. There may be variations to the postage fee after we pack your item (but this is rare and if applicable always minor).Throughout Australia (unpacked, APPROX PACKED approx. boxed size) - find postage estimates for this piece elsewhere online. POSTED FROM- Brisbane, AUSTRALIA.I imagine this piece might pack to be X in cubic size. Postage will cost APPROXIMATELY,ABOUT $ to BrisbaneABOUT $ to SydneyABOUT $ to Melbourne and ABOUT $ to Perth as it should fit in a large satchel I’d sayThis information is offered as an extra service for customers as a GUIDE only. The exact price for postage will be given to the buyer at check-out after the piece has been packed. (I am correct with my postage estimate 95% of the time and if I’m out it’s by very little- it can also pack to be cheaper than expected.)The above prices in grey include $2.95 for registered post (signature on delivery). These postage estimates given in grey in my description also include postage insurance to the start price or listing price for the item.OUR PACKINGA charge of $3.00 is included in the fee above to cover the cost of searching for and storing used packing materials. With the millions of cardboard boxes that end up as landfill every year we don’t believe in supporting the manufacture of boxes for post. Instead of buying new boxes and packing materials and passing this cost onto our customers we spend considerable time sourcing used boxes and then fashioning boxes to fit each item. We do the same for bubble-wrap and foam pieces. This requires a large investment of time, energy, ingenuity, organization and storage space- it is much easier and cheaper to buy new packing materials but I can’t justify taking the easy way out when so much packing material ends up as landfill. Our $3.00 charge does little to pay for the time (and storage) needed do this and to pack your item (there is also the time needed to bike the package to the post office). This is something we’re happy to do for our customers and the environment. We appreciate your support in this area.PaymentOur preferred payment option is DIRECT BANK DEPOSIT. Thanks. (We are forced by ebay to offer PayPal and reluctantly do so. PayPal is owned by ebay and generates extra revenue on top of ebay’s various commission fees.) Cash on pick-up is also available. Payment by Australia Post money order may also be available but with prior communication through ebay only.PayPal works easiest for International transactions. Our Story and ViewingsMy online store operated in Sydney for 8 years from 2002.
