Description: I'm pretty sure this is from Peru, carved from different gemstones. This one has a green serpentine body, black onyx beak, and red jasper on the head and little bit on the tail, with metal feet glued to a piece of black onyx. The sculpture measures approximately 4" tall, 3 1/8" long and weighs 3.8 oz. The last photo shows it next to similar birds for sale. This parrot rocks back and forth a little bit when you set it down. The total area of the base is small, so you have to set it down carefully. The red jasper piece on the tail has a chipped corner, which looks like it happened when it was made and they just decided to use it anyway. I have a bunch of similarly carved birds and fish listed for sale, and am happy to combine shipping. The carvings were stored wrapped in towels, and they all have some amount of tiny fibers from the towel that stuck to the clear lacquer over the stone. It's easier to notice against the darker stones. Some parts of the metal legs/feet have a black surface. Please see the photos to see the extent for this bird.
