Franklin Mint 1957 MERCEDES-BENZ 300SC LE (of 2500)-NMIB/PAPERS-SAMPLE #3! RARE!

Description: This auction is for a 1957 MERCEDES-BENZ 300SC ROADSTER LIMITED EDITION (of 2500) in 1:24 scale. This is an EXTREMELY RARE and absolutely STUNNING model, and it looks outstanding! This is already one of the more difficult to find Franklin Mint models, as it is from a run of only 2500, but this one is an INTERNAL CORRELATION SAMPLE! It is Serial #3! This model was part of the first 13 shipment to The Franklin Mint internally, as Correlation Samples. This first "baker's dozen" were only shipped to the main office (not to retail distributors), and then distributed internally to executives and staff members. This information has been verified and provided to me by a former Design Director for The Franklin Mint. It is VERY difficult to find these early Correlation Samples, much less one with such a LOW serial number! And this particular one is phenomenal and it has NEVER BEEN DISPLAYED! It is even possible this one has not been removed from the packaging before these photos were taken, as it was still within in its protective foam wrapping when opened for the pictures! It is in IMPECCABLE condition! It is THAT nice! As can be seen in the photos, the car will display wonderfully! The two-tone Gray paint is gorgeous and extremely glossy, and is absolutely striking in every way! There is the barest hint of some extremely faint traces of paint rash here and there, but nothing that is terribly obvious, and it can only be seen in harsh light, under very close inspection. It will not be seen on display, and in no way diminishes the beauty of this model! The paint really does look fantastic! And what a remarkable two tone color combination! The two complementary colors playing off one another really make the car a huge standout! The car looks absolutely magnificent! There are no issues, and the model is nearly flawless! The doors, hood, and trunk all lay securely in place, and are tight. All open and close without issue. The convertible boot is affixed to the car, and is made of a textured material to simulate a soft feel, and is expertly scaled! The chrome shines, and is in excellent condition too. The complementary red interior is clean and in beautiful condition, and looks brand new! It offsets the exterior colors perfectly! The windows are clean and clear. In fact, this car is extremely clean overall! It will show perfectly in any collection! The car is intact in every way, and all parts are present and functional. The wheels turn, and pivot with the steering wheel. Again, this model is superb! Whomever wins this auction will be very pleased! This comes in its white outer shipping box, its blue presentation box with the printed graphics, and in its protective styrofoam. The white outer box has some tape, and writing on the label on the end, indicating the model within, and shows some shelf wear from storage, but is otherwise in good shape. The paperwork includes the Franklin Mint Certificate of Authenticity/Care and Handling Booklet, the Thank You Note from The Franklin Mint, and the blue envelope containing the metal name plate, all within their original Franklin Mint envelope, emblazoned with the FM logo. The Hang Tag is attached to the underside of the model. Once again, this is one of the more difficult to find and beautiful Franklin Mint cars, and this one is in EXCEPTIONAL condition!
